The Taste of Summer Sea in a Wine Bottle
The Project
Seaside Story is another new brand I created for Staro Oryahovo Winery as a result of my inspiration from all summers I have spent at the Black Sea – 46 for now. Summer and Sea is always a magical combination so we decided to create a dedicated fascinating story about it – the Seaside Story.
It is a magical fresh blend from the best grapes of Staro Oryahovo Winery that captures the summer vibes into a very tasty and refreshing wine.
The Challenge
All Staro Oryahovo wines have already gained a lot of popularity and excellent reputation among wine connoisseurs. This one, I am sure, will be no exception from the winery’s portfolio. The challenge here for me was to create a memorable wine label design, very different from the famous White Story brand and the same time very unique and recognizable, without competing with the existing labels of the winery. It was just another competition with myself – nothing I wasn’t used to!
First, I started with the name – it was another Story from the same winery. I did not call it something trivial like Wine Story or Summer Story, though it was all about summer and wine… and sea. Sea was the key so I decided to name it Seaside Story as it was a white blend and many people would recognize it as the summer wine of Staro Oryahovo and would related it to the Black Sea, beach, fun, etc. So this is how the brand name came out.
The design is based on a tree image. Unlike the other Story wines, I used here more realistic tree printed in gold hot foil against white background. I also used very fresh sea and summer colors to enhance the festive feeling I had about this wine and of course to try the capture all the fun there is in every summer ray at the sea.
The Result
My emotions about this wine were all streaming out of the summer mood I had when I spend my summers at the sea.
Light, freshness, vibrant colors, sea waves and blue skies – this is all about the summer mood I tried to implement in every element of my work. The result was a very detailed wine label design charged with fun and positive emotions that live between the gold summer rays and turquoise sea waves.
